July 17, 2018 Water Supply Update

May contain: finger and hand

The CSD Board of Directors approved several actions in a special meeting yesterday to allow the General Manager to quickly proceed with both temporary and permanent water system renovations.  The District's insurance carrier has agreed to allow us to begin work on the system repairs immediately without waiting for multiple bids, and as of today we are entering into agreements with Pace Enginering from Redding and Tico Construction, as well as Bullert Industrial Electric in Redding.

We have also contracted for the replacement of the Well 4 pump that failed on last Saturday; and this system should be operational today.  This is great news!!  In addition, Bullert Electric will be on site tomorrow to get Well 2 up and running; which is expected to take up to 3 days.  With both well 4 and 2 back online, we should have adequate water supply to begin flushing the lake water from the system, and finish removing any debris from the water mains.

Tico will also be on site tomorrow to begin debris removal planning and improvement assessment. Tico will be working under the direction of our project manager and design engineering firm, Pace.  We hope to lift the no bathing order soon, once well 4 is running and we are gaining storage in the tanks.  Until then, the do not drink or bathe order for the water is still in place.
